Every once in a while, I get the opportunity to feature an especially glamorous and luxurious wedding that will totally knock your socks off. Off the top of my head, there was Jake and Carly’s San Diego beach wedding, Jessica and Cassidy’s stunner at San Francisco City Hall and Jenny and Andrew’s 4th of July wedding, to name a few. Now, today’s awe-inspiring wine country wedding in rich shades of plum can certainly be added to this growing list. I feel like I don’t get to feature weddings like this all that often because rustic and vintage weddings are so “in,” but you’ve gotta love a wedding with an upscale venue, grandeur floral arrangements and a rich color palette!
After dating for about six years, Stephanie and John were married at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California. The guest list was relatively small, with about 90 people in attendance at the wedding ceremony held out beneath the trees one summer afternoon. Before the ceremony began, Stephanie and John chose to do a first look, “…our best memory was meeting on the bridge just him and I, having such a special moment knowing that we were getting ready to spend the rest of our lives together…” said the bride. Wedding photographer, Brittany Hanson of BLR Life Photography & Cinema did such a great job of capturing the sweet and intimate moment, too, don’t you think?
The ceremony aisle was lined with tall, grandeur floral arrangements with dark purple and deep plum hydrangeas, magenta Phalenopsis orchids, fuchsia peonies and roses. Stephanie walked down the aisle wearing an amazing wedding gown by Amsale, along with a special vintage broach attached at the hip, which was owned by her great, great grandmother in the 1800s. After the ceremony, the bride and groom were transported to the reception in a fabulous white 1947 Packard Car, while the cocktail hour got underway. The outdoor reception that followed was lit with strung paper lanterns and “…filled with fabulous toasts, a picture booth, open bar, an amazing band and some great dancing!” said Stephanie. After the reception, the party continued out on the mansion terrace, where guests enjoyed a crave worthy late night sliders bar!
The wine country wedding was planned by Cloud 9 Weddings & Papers, with a few DIY projects here and there, which included the wine cork board that displayed the escort cards, table numbers and programs. The regal plum colored wedding invitation was also a custom design by Cloud 9 Weddings & Papers. In lieu of wedding favors, Stephanie and John chose to make donations in each of their guest’s names to Project 81, a nonprofit organization that they both do medical relief work for down in Haiti. After the wedding, Stephanie and John honeymooned in exotic Bora Bora, where they stayed in a private hut over the pristine tropical waters for 12 days.
