Incorporate Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue! We love the tradition and memories that are created behind this phrase.  The blue is thought to bring purity, love and fidelity to a marriage.  We thought it might be fun to take at look at all the ways “something blue” could be incorporated into your wedding day! Often the the something old, new and borrowed are a little more personal while the blue takes on its own creativity.  Think outside the box when it comes to your something blue! We just can’t get enough of all these fabulous ideas.

The traditional idea of blue shoes!  We love how the groom is wearing blue socks to bring it all together.  Such a fun idea from The Knot.  Have the bottom of your shoes painted blue like these Christian Louboutins.  Subtle, yet fabulous!

Continuing to focus on the groom think about using blue flowers or ribbon on the boutonniere!  Lover.ly got it perfect with these boutonnieres.

If you are not into making the tradition stand out for everyone to see, there are super subtle ways to incorporate it.  Even Kate Middleton followed the tradition, with a blue ribbon sewn into her dress.  To follow in Kate’s footsteps, sew a blue heart or your wedding date into your dress like Style Me Pretty and The Knot.

Focusing on the hair to bring in the something blue can span from cute hair clips to old fashioned veils to one of our favorites, blue ribbon tied into a braid.  Style Me Pretty got it just right!

Sticking with the accessories, consider a blue cardigan to wear for those chilly nights or use your dress for a less subtle, but phenomenal show stopper.

Still in the most traditional ways the trend is used from garters to the flowers!  Tie a blue ribbon around your bouquet or use bright blue flowers! OneWed
