Persian Wedding in the Colorado Mountains
Pooneh and John’s elegant mountain wedding took place in late July. In addition to some American wedding traditions, it also consisted of traditional Persian elements to celebrate Pooneh’s heritage.
Persian Wedding Traditions
The ceremony boasted a Sofreh Aghd (wedding table) adorned with coins, pastries, a mirror and candelabra, and more.
The festivities also included a Raghseh Chagoo (cake knife dance) in which the couple must offer money to a female family member or friend in order to earn the knife to cut the cake.
Wedding Monogram
The couple had a custom monogram made for the occasion, which they used on everything from their invitations, cinch sack guest bags, and ice sculpture atop a raw bar.
Florals
Florals utilized a soft white and green palate with pops of baby blue and light pink. Some unique floral touches included a large succulent incorporated into the bride’s bouquet and raised arches sporting greenery and hanging globes of roses, candles, and air plants at the dining tables.
Pooneh & John
We loved planning this wedding with Pooneh and John. Incorporating their cultures as well as adding stylistic elements to represent the two of them resulted in a beautiful event for a beautiful couple.
