5 Ways to Make Your Wedding Weather Plan Stress Free
The Colorado weather can be unpredictable for your Colorado Wedding. Colorado has had snow at the end of May, beginning of September, heavy rainfall, and thunderstorms throughout the summer. Whatever comes down on your wedding day, your vendors will do everything they can to make the best out of the situation. Whether you’re worried about the weather during photos, ceremony, or reception having a weather backup plan is a must! Keep reading for how to prepare a weather backup plan for your wedding day!
Planning for Inclement Weather
Start by researching the typical weather patterns for your wedding date and location. For an example, typically Colorado will get afternoon storms that will last a hot second and then pass over if we’re not in a drought. Weather could still change by the time your wedding happens, but at least you’re thinking about the options and it won’t be a huge shocker. Worst case scenario, you need to use the weather back up plan that you and your vendors have already talked through and you and your girls are drying off your veil in the bathroom!
Backup Space for your Colorado Wedding
Rain, rain (or snow), go away, can you come again another day? Nope, bring it on because we have a plan b! If your wedding venue has an outdoor ceremony space, majority of the time the venue also has a backup indoor space for inclement weather. If they don’t, ask if you can tent the ceremony space! Check with your planner what they’ve done in the past and ask your venue what spaces are available to use. Once those have been discussed, chat through logistics with your planner on how the day would look if you had to use the weather backup plan.
Communicating with your Vendor Team
Once you’ve decided what your weather backup plan is, it’s important to communicate your plan with your vendors. The more they are are prepared, the better they will be able to execute seamlessly. Your planner will know what weather is acceptable for plan a and when is it time to switch to plan b based on what you and your partner want. Is it okay if it drizzles or starts to flurry for your Colorado Wedding? What if the rain or snow starts picking up mid ceremony? Do you want to finish or move to plan b to finish the ceremony? It is also important for your photographer and videographer to know your contingency plan in case you planned to take photos outside.
Flexibility and Embrace the Moment
If rain or snow is predicted at any point throughout the day, your vendors will be checking their handy, dandy weather app. They are ready to execute the weather backup plan and anything else that comes their way. Whether that’s pushing back the ceremony 15 minutes to wait out the storm for your Colorado Wedding ceremony, or rearranging the time of events on the timeline, your vendors will be able to shift the timeline as needed. Remember to try to have a positive attitude and embrace whatever mother nature decides to throw at us that day. Unexpected changes can add a unique touch to your wedding day. Enjoy the moment with your loved ones!
